50g plain chocolate (2oz)
75g margerine (3oz)
2 eggs
125g caster sugar (5oz)
100g self-raising flour (4oz)
pinch of salt
50g chopped walnuts (2oz)





  1. melt the chocolate and margerine over hot water
  2. beat in the eggs and sugar.
  3. mix in flour, salt and nuts, spread in well greased square tin.
  4. bake at gas mark 4 or 180 for about 30 minutes, until the top has a dull crust
